Constantin came over to Cincinnati from Forchheim amt Emmendingen, Baden, Germany at the age of 21 in 1843. He was son of Ignatz Binder and Sabina Gerber. He married Eva Klieber(various spellings) on Feb. 16, 1847 at St Joseph Church, Cincinnati, Ohio. They raised 8 children. One son, Joseph, I have not been able to find out when he died or where he was buried. Constantin was a farmer/gardener. He was naturalized in Cincinnati, Ohio on Sept. 23, 1878.

He spelled his last name two different ways: Bender and Binder. No rhyme or reason to which one he used. His sons did the same thing. But the family name was permanently changed to Bender by the time his grandchildren were born.

He was my great great grandfather.

His siblings were: Eurphosina (1808-1894); Franz Joseph born 1813; M. Anna born 1815; Johann Baptist 1817-1896; Karl born 1819 and Agatha born 1821.
