Louisa was born in Germany, exact location unknown, to Casper and Katherine Pabst. She is the second oldest in order of known births (see mother Katherine).

Louisa was about 11 when the family came to America (see Casper).

In 1890 she was naturalized, according to records. She resided in Cleveland. She worked as a 'domestic' before her marriage.

Oct 15 1895 she married Conrad Krause, name anglicanized to Charles on the marriage license. Conrad himself was from Germany.
They would have 2 children: Phillip A Krause and Nellie Katherine Krause Bacher.
They would eventually move to East side of Cleveland, and then to the border of Euclid Ohio.

In 1919 Conrad died, he is also buried in Brooklyn Heights.
July 2 1921 Louisa married Joseph Karlen. They would divorce and re-marry later on.

In 1940 she is listed as a widow, and gives her last name as Krause. In her obituary in the Cleveland necrology file she is also listed as Louisa Krause, therefore I put the last names in the order that I did.

Grandmother of 5.
