Levi was born in a tiny town called New Harrison in Paulding County, which no longer exists. It was somewhere by the border of Carryall and Harrison Twps, next to the Ohio-Indiana border. It was close to the Maumee River. He says in his WW1 Draft Card he was born in the village of Nineville, which also no longer exists. It was close to New Harrison. He probably was told that they lived there, and so assumed he was also born there.

Levi was the second to last child of Katherine and Casper Pabst, and the last to be born in Ohio. Their youngest, Daniel, was born in Indiana. And so, Levi probably spent most of his childhood in Allen County Indiana.

In 1913 he married Sophia K Fritcha, in Fort Wayne. They would have two children.

In 1917 he was Confirmed at Christ's Lutheran Church, in Woodburn.

A 1928 Directory has him in Woodburn IN as a contractor. My father told me Levi was a 'master carpenter', which he learned from his father. In 1930 he lives in Shirley City, Maumee, Allen County, and 1940 has him in Milan Twp, Allen County.

Sometime before January of 1941, he and Sophia went their separate ways.

August 2 1941, he married Rose Marie Golobich, my grandmother, in New Cumberland WV. They then resided in Cleveland and Brunswick OH. They would have 4 children together.

Brother of William, Louisa, Reinhart, Andrew, Elise (Lizzie), Nellie, Elsie, Katherine, Martha, Katie, Emil, Louis, and Daniel.

Father of Lawrence Pabst, Arlene Pabst Foux, Leon A Pabst, Jeanie Pabst Ward, Jacqueline Pabst Cox, and Linda Faye Pabst Steffen.
