Sparky, a resident of Gardendale passed away at the age of 78. He retired from the Alabama Power Co, was a member of the Gardendale Mt. Vernon UMC. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of the Hewitt – North Birmingham Lodge 519. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Geraldine Sparkman. He is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Ann Sulser (William) and Brenda K. Sparkman; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a number of relatives and a host of friends. A funeral service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00pm with a visitation to begin at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites.
