Johan Olaus Angen died very suddenly from heart failure on Wednesday, Sept. 24th at 6 p.m., his death coming as a shock to his family and friends. Mr. Angen was born in Norway in 1854, and died at the age of 76 years and 7 months. He came to the United States in 1869, and has been a resident of Douglas county ever since. He was united in marriage to Oline Syverson in 1883 and this union was blessed with eight children of which three preceded their father in death. Left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father are his widow, Mrs. Oline Angen residing on the home farm in Brandon township and two daughters, Mary (Mrs. J. Ukestad of Upsilanti, N.D.), and Marie (Mrs. W. L. Anderson of St. Paul) and three sons, Joel of Moe township, Rudolph of St. Paul and Carrol at home. All of the children wee present at the funeral which was held Saturday from the East Moe Lutheran church of which congregation he has been a member ever since it was organized. Rev. C. B. Bestul, assisted by Rev. H. Magelsen, officiated at the funeral. the pallbearers were Joel Angen, Christ Holte, Peter, Louis and Tollef Severson and Ludvig Erickson.
