Carroll Angen died Saturday, September 17, 1977 in the Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, North Dakota at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 7 days. He was born April 10, 1905 on his parents (Olaus and Oline Syverson Angen's) farm in Brandon Township, one and a half miles west of Garfield, Minn., where he grew to manhood and attended grade school, and where he was baptized and confirmed in the East Moe Lutheran Church. On June 25, 1929 he was united in marriage to Lena Woolliscroft who preceded him in death June 29, 1949. they rented his parents farm for a few years and then after his father Olaus died Sept. 24, 1930 they bought the farm. His mother Oline died Oct. 18, 1948. After Carroll's wife Lena died, he sold the farm to his nephew Ralph Angen where he and his family live. After Carroll sold the farm, he went to live with his sister Mary and her husband Julius Ukestad, Ypsilanti, North Dakota where he did farm work and painting. Carroll was the youngest of Olaus and Oline Angen's eight children. He is survived by a sister Maria, Mrs. Wilhelm L. Anderson of St. Paul. The other 4 brothers and 2 sisters who preceded him in death were John, Mary (Mrs. Julius Ukestad), Syvert, Joel, Karen who died in infancy, and Rudolph. In late years Carroll was in poor health and spent his summers in Ypsilanti where he had nieces and nephews, and winters with his sister Maria and brother-in-law, Wilhelm L. Anderson in St. Paul. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. in East Moe Lutheran Church, Douglas Co., Minn. Pallbearers were Kenneth Gahlher, James Ukestad, Manroy Ukestad, Myron Ulsager, Kenneth Schjei and Clifford Angen. Rev. Kenneth K. Hodum officiating. Interment was in the East Moe Lutheran Church Cemetery.
