John Schmeidler, 90, Catherine Route, died Friday, Oct. 28, at St. John’s Rest Home, Victoria.

He was born Nov. 24, 1892 in Ellis County, the son of Frank and Maria (Langer) Schmeidler.

He married Emma Wolf on May 21, 1917 at Catherine. She died May 24, 1944.

He was a retired farmer and member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Catherine.

Survivors include four sons, Cyril, Celly and Gilbert, all of Catherine, and Harold of Walker; two daughters, Mrs. Fidelia Herbert, Topeka, and Sister Solana of Sells, Ariz.; three brothres, William and Anton, both of Hays, and Fidelis of Catherine; a sister, Mrs. Angela Vogl, Greeley, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Lloyd Schmeidler and Father Harvey Dinkel officiating with burial in the church cemetery. A parish wake service is for 8 p.m. today at Brock’s North Hill Chapel.
