Marie Adams

A graveside service for Marie Adams, 70, of the Ridgeway community will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Emblem Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Dittmar officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Murray-Orowsky Funeral Home.

Mrs. Adams died at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31.

She was born in Dallas on March 17, 1935, the daughter of Isaac and Bessie Pickle Tucker. She married Jimmy Adams in Dallas on April 26, 1963. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Mrs. Adams was retired from Woodhaven Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Bird of Greenville; one son, Gary Adams of Cumby; three sisters, Bertha McKiddy, Wynell Duffer and Mary Ferrell, all of Sulphur Springs; three grandchildren, Tony Crider, Darrell Wallace and William Bird; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Troy Anthony Adams; one brother, Buddy Tucker; and three sisters, Bernice Martin, Leatrice Stembridge and Lillie McWilliams.
