ANNA MARIE POPP

Elkhart Lake – Mrs. Philip Popp, aged 70, long-time resident here, died at her home today after having been ill with pneumonia for the past ten days.
Mrs. Popp, nee Anna Maria Mathes, was born at Niagara Falls, New York, May 8, 1862, and came to town Rhine with her parents at the age of four years. Two years later the family moved to Elkhart Lake. Mrs. Popp's marriage took place Feb. 13, 1884.
Survivors are; her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Robert Kaiser of Millhome and Mrs. Carl Mair, Rapid River, Mich., and three sons, Albert and Henry of Elkhart Lake, and Louis of Cleveland, Wis., a brother, Adam Mathes of Clintonville and a step-brother, John Hart of Stratford. There are also fifteen grandchildren who mourn her death. One son, John, died fourteen years ago.
Private funeral services will be at the Popp home. The Rev. Carl Nagel of St. John's Evangelical church here will officiate and burial will be made in the Elkhart Lake Cemetery.
