PHILLIP POPP

Elkhart Lake – Phillip Popp, aged 73, life-long resident of Elkhart Lake and vicinity, died suddenly while at work in the yard at the home of his son, Louis Popp, in the town of Meeme, Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. Popp was born in the town of Rhine, January 17, 1862, and was married to Miss Anna Mathes Feb. 13, 1884 when they couple moved to Elkhart Lake. He was employed at the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad for many years. Later he became engaged in farming and occupied a farm just north of the village of Elkhart lake. Mrs. Popp preceded her husband in death, March 11, 1933.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Kaiser of Millhome and Mrs. Carl Maehre of Tremary, Mich. Also surviving are three sons, Albert of Elkhart Lake, Louis of Town Meeme and Henry of Kiel and sixteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Laun-Raeder Funeral Home at Elkhart Lake with the Rev. Carl Nagel of the Evangelical Church officiating. Interment will be made in the family vault at Elkhart Lake Cemetery.
