Mrs. Rachel A. Horton, 38. of Bakersfield was killed in a headon collision on Interstate 5 near Newhall today, the Associated Press reported. Her (grand)son, James, 2-1/2, was taken to Golden State Hospital in Newhall. Mrs. Horton has been engaged in the restaurant and catering business in Bakersfield for 20 years.

HORTON. RACHEL ALICE—
Services will be conducted in the Greenlawn Memorial Chapel Wednesday at 3 p.m. for Rachel Alice Horton, 38, 1314 Tate Street, who died Friday at Newhall. Pastor Clifford M. Dickau, BelleView Baptist Church, will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Horton was a native of Texas and had resided in California 26 years and in Bakersfield 13 years. She had engaged in the restaurant business 20 years and was last employed by May-Mooney as banquet manager.
Mrs. Horton was a member of the of the BelleView Baptist Church. Survivors include a son Michael Horton, now serving in Viet Nam and a daughter, Susan Rachel Dyatt (sic Susan Rachel Wyatt) of Oildale; her mother, Elizabeth Toone of Bakersfield; two brothers, LTC Thomas O. Toone of Maryland and William Toone of Bakersfield; and one grandchild. Paulbearers will be J. Paul Montgomery, Verlan Watt, Al Sisson, Jack Hayes, Brady Johnson and Roy Haves.
