Ralph Eugene Knudson was born March 5, 1921, to Sig and Ruth (Peterson) Knudson of rural Centerville and entered into death June 14, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Centerville at the age of 81 years.
Ralph attended Euclid rural school, graduated from Centerville High School and then attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls. He was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. He then began his lifelong career as an American farmer. He married Carolyn Nelson on January 21, 1942 in Wakonda. They spent their entire married life in the Centerville area. The couple spent much of their time in the rural area working and enjoying friends and relatives.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Carolyn,and his son Lloyd Knudson.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his children: LeAnn Knudson of Centerville, Eldon (Gail) Knudson of Custer, Wayne Knudson of Bellingham, MN, and Robin (Jeff) Adamson of Aztec, NM; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Stanley and Delmer both of Centerville; 2 sisters: Ferne Olson of Beresford and Marilyn Anderson of Cherokee, IA.
Funeral services will be 10AM Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Scandia Lutheran Church, Centerville, with burial at Riverview Cemetery, Centerville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2PM to 8PM with the family present from 7 to 8 at the Wass Funeral Home in Centerville.
