MONTICELLO - Virginia A. (Hicks) Mix, 61, died at 12:03 PM Sunday, May 3, 1981, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She had been in ill health seven years and hospitalized this last time for a week. Born Aug. 12, 1919, in Richland County, ND, she lived most of her life in Monticello. In 1971, she married Clyde G. Mix, who died in 1980.

Mrs. Mix also resided for several years at Deland, FL. She was employed as a waitress in various Monticello restaurants and at Daytona Beach, FL. She attended Monticello Christian Church and was a member of Deland, FL, Country Club. An avid golfer, she was the women's golf champion in the Niners Association in 1977 and 1978.

Surviving are a daughter, Alice Cauble of Monticello; two sons, Stanley R. Faustich of St. Louis, MO, and Jack E. Huff of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Gary and Clyde Mix, both of Holly Hill, FL; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Virden of Lafayette, Mrs. Grace Taylor of Battle Ground, Mrs. Julia H. Lemon of Geuda Springs, KS, and Mrs. Donna Brunfield of Houston, FL; and five brothers, Jesse Hicks of Monticello, Lester V. Hicks, Harold Hicks, both of Lafayette, Leslie A. Hicks of Chalmers, and Fred Hicks of Arcadia, FL. Internment at IOOF Riverview Cemetery, Monticello.
