George Ira Bowers, 71, died Aug. 19, 2012, in Palm City. He was born in Corunna, Mich., and moved to Palm City in 1984 from Traverse City, Mich. Before retirement, he was an independent utility contractor. Survivors include his sons, Randy L. Bowers of Fort Pierce, George Ira Bowers Jr. of Denison, Texas, and Jon C. Bowers and Anthony George Bowers Sr., both of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Jody Turner of Port St. Lucie and Tonya Crandall of Weberville, Mich.; companion, Fran "Frickle" Cipriani of Palm City; 12 siblings; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Rummery Bowers; and daughter, Kelly Jo Bowers.
