Herman H. Speering, 70, died Friday morning at Maplecrest Sanitarium, Whitelaw, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Luecker Funeral Home, Brillion, and at 2 p.m. at the St. John-St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. John Wendland will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Six brothers will act as pallbearers.
Mr. Speering was born March 23, 1884, in the Town of Little River, Oconto County. He married Ida Dallmann at Manitowoc March 22, 1918, and the couple farmed for a number of years in the Town of Rockland. In 1942 they moved to Brillion where he was employed at the lime kilns.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Last of Lena, Wis., and Mrs. Wilbert Krueger of Reedsville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Stueck of Milwaukee; six brothers, Albert of Three Lakes, John of Shawano, Gustave and William of Black River Falls and Charles and Edward of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Siebert Olson and Mrs. Pat Liebe of Black River Falls and Mrs. Herbert Betz of Dallas, Wis.; and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
