Roberta T. Williams, 97, of Clovis, NM passed away on March 16, 2014.

She was born on November 7, 1916 to Edgar and Golda Turner in Fame, Oklahoma. She was the eldest of eight children. Raised on a farm, she was a high school graduate of Stidam, Oklahoma and a college graduate of Northeastern State College. Continuing her education, she received a Masters of Education and Education Specialist from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. She taught school in Oklahoma, Elida and Portales before retiring in 1979.

She was dedicated to her work, church and family. She raised two children as a single Mom and touched many lives through her work as an educator and volunteer.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Joe Roy Williams; parents: Edgar and Golda Turner; sister: Geneva Marks and brother: Houston Turner.

She is survived by her son: J.E. (Billye Sue) Williams of Clovis, New Mexico; her daughter: JoBeth (Clark) Stevens of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren: Scott (Dawn) Williams of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Darren (Jan) Williams of Clovis, New Mexico, Nikki (David) McDermid of Texico, New Mexico and Shelley (Ben) Isai of Surprise, Arizona; ten great grandchildren and sisters: Mary Jo (Marion) Richards of Lubbock, Texas, Katheleen Dobson of Checotah, Oklahoma, Reba Robinson of Owasso, Oklahoma, Lavaughn (Bill) Huff of Roswell, New Mexico and Judy (Johnny) Freeman of Eufaula, Oklahoma.

A memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico with Rev. Dick Ross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children's Home, 2200 S. Avenue I, Portales, New Mexico 88130.
