Louise Katherine Perry

Mrs. Louise Katherine Perry, 78, of 1031 Maxwell Hill Road, Beckley, W. Va., died Friday in a local hospital after a short illness.

Born August 1903 in Warden, she was a daughter of the late William Alfred Hurt and Emile Weinhardt Hurt.

Mrs. Perry was a life-long resident of Raleigh County and a member of the Beckley First Christian Church.

Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Perry, and a siter.

Survirors include a son, James Howard Perry, Jr. of Beckley; a foster son, Noah Raines of Logan; a daughter, Betty L. Perry of Beckley; five sisters, Amalia Beall of California, Frances Meakin of Beckley, and Carolyn Meakin, Marjorie Hurt and Elizabeth White, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; a grand-daughter and two foster grandsons.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Melton Mortuary Chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Russell Smith, Jr. and Dr. Walter H. Griswold officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, W. Va.

Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be William Meakin, Donald Russell, Virgil Horton, Roy Bazzarre, William Sutphin, and William Perry.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Arrington, Wilford Shumate, Virgil Sarrett, D. R. Pisegna, Marvin Beall, Ira Hurt, Earl Hurt and Charles R. Bradley.

Katherine was a twin sister to Carolyn Justine "Carrie" and third of seven children, all girls. She married James Howard Perry on the 9th day of October 1926 in Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia, but their marriage license was issued in Fayette County. They had two children, Betty Louise and James Howard "Jim" Perry, Jr.
