20 OCT 2021 SAC to add suffix of "Sr."~Jesse "Buster" Clayton Abel of Shawnee passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014.

Jesse was born in Seminole County near Earlsboro on Feb. 17, 1931.

In the fall of 1951, he met the love of his life, Leta Estep, and they were married March 1, 1952. Their marriage of 62 years was blessed with four children: Jess Abel and wife Angie of Houston, Texas; Glenn Abel and wife Wendy of Cedar Park, Texas; John Abel and wife Cindy of Mansfield, Texas; and Debbie Brown and husband D.C. of Pearland, Texas.

A selfless man, he did many things for both his earthly family and for his church family. His kindness, his joy and love of life, and his devotion to his family and friends will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Edwin and Sally Odella Abel; by two sisters, Bettie Yovenne Abel and Maxine Moore; by one brother, Adrian Abel; and by one granddaughter, Katie Brown. He is survived by his wife, his four children, 11 grandchildren, and by 17 great-grandchildren.

"The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person" (Eccl. 12:13).

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, at Rock Creek Baptist Church with D.C. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery.
