Mr. McCarty, a retired postal clerk, was a First Baptist Church deacon, a member of the Winnsboro Masonic Lodge and of the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Earie Mayes McCarty, Winnsboro; two sons, Dana G. McCarty, Houston, Tex., and Delton McCarty, Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Buchan, Crowville; four granddaughters and a grandson.
