Funeral services for Robert W. McCarty, age 54 years, of Sikes, who died in a local clinic early Saturday morning, were conducted by the Rev. J. B. Adams of Sikes. Interment was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the last rites.

Robert W. McCarty was born January 6, 1875. He was married to Miss Alice Perkins of Sikes, 33 years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church 32 years. He was a progressive farmer and citizen of Sikes.

Those surviving the deceased are five sons: Irvy [sic Ivry], of Shreveport; Roy, of L.S.U., Baton Rouge; Ira, Troy, and Shiles [sic Shile] of Sikes; his mother, Mrs. Martha McCarty, Sikes; six brothers, W. W. McCarty, C. A. McCarty, and W. G. McCarty, Sikes; C. C. McCarty, Winnfield; D. S. McCarty, St. Joseph, La.; and H. M. McCarty, Crowville; three grandchildren, Wirt, Stanley, and Buel Dean, of Winnfield.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral services were: W. W. Allen, J. W. Allen, B. W. Bailey, Miss Ethel Boyett, Miss Lottie Jordan, Miss Fannie Jarnigan, Mrs. S. E. Jarnigan, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McCarty,
Winnfield; Mr. and Mrs. J. Wayne McCarty and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Simmons, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Horace McCarty, Mr. and Mrs. John Perkins, Miss Elva Branch, Mr. Irvin McCarty, Shreveport; Mr. and Mrs. H. M. McCarty and family and Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Buchan and family of Crowville; Mr. D. S. McCarty, St. Joseph; Mr. Floyd McCarty, Shreveport; Mr. Roy McCarty, of L.S.U. Student Camp, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
