Minerva Estell JONES

JONES, Minerva Estell 88 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Wednesday November 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rilda Ward of Crossville, Tennessee, husband Robert B. Jones, son, James C. Jones, brothers and sisters Roy, Mae, Mary, Conard, Lonnie, Duke, Trusta, Talbert, William Howard and Lionell, all who lived out of state. She was also preceded in death by her sister Sarah Benson of Kettering, niece Geneva Manis of Centerville and second husband Paul Wolfenbarger. She is survived by her son Robert B. Jones of Kettering, step-daughter Roberta Douglas of Kansas, sister Fairy Pennington of Bellbrook, brother Dexter Ward of Crossville, Tennessee, daughter-in-law Pamela S. Jones of Centerville, grandsons Matthew S. Jones of Miamisburg, Jason M. Jones (Yza) of Navarre, Florida, great-grandchildren Yzabella and Talon Jones and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and close friends. After attending Crossville High School in Crossville, Tennessee, Minerva moved to Dayton and was employed at Univis Lens and Sunshine Biscuit but spent most of her adult life as a homemaker after her sons were born. Minerva loved Florida and the family enjoyed many vacations at Daytona Beach and she had the opportunity to live in Tampa for five years with her second husband. Minerva loved and was loved by her very large family and enjoyed yearly visits to her hometown to visit with family. She was very close to her grandsons and spoiled them lovingly during their childhood. Minerva was a long-time member of Dayton Baptist Temple and later Faith Baptist Church. Minerva was a Christian woman, strong in spirit and faith, and she loved to have fun and laugh a lot. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends may call at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm followed by a funeral service at 7 pm, the Reverend Gary Favor officiating. Interment services 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, Beavertown Cemetery in Kettering. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
