Jesse Alfred Foster, 79, of Huntsville died on May 29, 1978 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1899 in Berryville, the son of Elijah Daniel and Rebecca Jane (Smith) Foster. He was a retired surveyor for Arkansas Highway Department. His first wife, Jessie Irene (Tackett) Foster, died on April 6, 1943. He is survived by his second wife, Virginia Mae (Smith) Foster; his sons, Lester Archie Foster and Noel Allen Foster, both of Springdale, Chester Faye Foster and Orville Kenneth Foster, both of Orofino, Idaho, William Riley Foster of Huntsville, Johnie Summers Foster of Afton, Oklahoma, and Alfred Daniel Foster of Wichita, Kansas; his daughter, Ruth Anna Foster of the home; nineteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Bilderback and Rev. Maurice Steele officiating. Burial was in Big Sandy Cemetery in Purdy.
