Death Takes Katie Curtis In 71st Year
Mrs. Katie Curtis, 71, a resident of Lodi for the past 55 years, died yesterday in a local hospital, after an illness of six weeks.
A native of Olivet, S.D., she made her home at 1900 Normandy Lane with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Lewis.
Mrs. Curtis was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and she attended the Seventh-day Church of God.
She was the mother of Fred Werner of Santa Cruz, Clarence Werner of Santa Cruz, Clarence Werner of Lodi, Mrs. Viola (Robert) Winchester of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Pearl (Ralph) Lewis, of Lodi, George Werner of Lodi, Eugene Werner of LaHabra, Mrs. Bonnie (Oscar) Kludt of Fresno, and the late Ernest Werner of Lodi.
She was the sister of Mrs. Lena Reimche of Lodi, George Baumbach of Stockton, Jake Baumbach of Fresno, Dave Baubach of Lodi and the late Elizabeth Bechtold, K.G. Baumbach and Lydia Seibel all of Lodi.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
