EBENEZER A. WILLIAMS ANSWERS CALL OF DEATH. Kaysville, Feb. 19.—Ebenezer A. Williams, a pioneer of Kaysville, 87 years old, died here yesterday after an illness of two months. He was one of the most influential and respected; citizens of the town.
Mr. Williams was born on August 6, 1830, in Usk, Monmouthshire, England, and came to Utah in 1853, reaching Kaysville in September of that year. He had resided here since that time. In the early part of his life here he was engaged in farming. Later he opened one of the first general stores in Kaysville and had been engaged in the mercantile line up to 15 years ago when he retired from business.
He was always prominent in Church and public affairs. He was for 20 years a member of the high council of Davis stake and was later ordained a patriarch, which office he held until his death.
He is survived by a widow and 13 children, who are: Mrs. Matilda King, Salt Lake; Mrs. Elizabeth Layton and Mrs. Frances Kimball, Thatcher, Ariz.; E. Harry Williams, Gooding, Idaho; Fred B. Williams, Salt Lake; Thomas E. Willliams, Mrs. Minnie Jarman, Orton A. Williams and Frank Williams, Kaysville; Mrs. Etta Anderson and Mrs. Mabel Madsen, Ogden; Horace and Jabez Williams, Cardston, Alberta, Canada. There are also 72 grandchildren and 63 great grand-children surviving.
Funeral services will be held at the Kaysville Tabernacle at 1 o'clock Wednesday. Interment will be in the family plot in Kaysville Cemetery.
