Donald "Laux" James Lauxmann, age 88, passed away at his home on January 9, 2014.
A World War II veteran, history buff and avid football fan, he taught social studies at Albuquerque Public Schools.
Donald is survived by daughter, Mary McIntyre of Rio Rancho, son, Timothy Lauxmann and grandson, Alexander Lauxmann of Leslie, Michigan.
A graveside memorial service will be held on January 23, 2014 at 11:15 a.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery in Santa Fé, NM with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers Don requested donations be sent to New Mexico Animal Friends.
