Francis Pendleton, gentleman and merchant of Manchester, was the third son of Thomas Pendleton of Manchester. He married Cicely, daughter of Thomas Beck, esquire, of Manchester, by his wife Isabel, daughter and heiress or Richard Bexwick, merchant of Manchester. Bexwith was the founder of the Jesus Chapel in Manchester Cathedral. On September 1, 1562, Isabel Bexwith Beck conveyed the chapel to her son-in-law, Francis Pendleton, and in his will dated March 24, 1573/74, he desired to be buried there. His elder son and heir was Henry Pendleton. He had three daughters, Margaret, Isabel, and Ellen.
