Obituary from the "Gazette" of Waverley, Kansas dated 26 Oct 1906:
Mrs. Lucinda Glass died at her home in Waverley Thursday evening, October 18, 1906, aged 87 years, 1 month, 26 days, after an extended illness caused from old age. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Whorall at the Waverley Presbyterian church, Saturday, October 20, and the remains interred in the Rock Creek cemetery.
Lucinda Mathis was born in Nelson county, Kentucky, Aug. 22, 1819. She was married to Gilbert Glass in Spencer county, Kentucky, Aug. 6, 1846, becoming the step-mother of four young children. To them were born ten children - Joseph M. of Pasadena, Cal., W. H. of Waverley, Kan., Miss Alice B. Glass who died in Waverley, Kan. in 1895, Mrs. Emma K. Mathis of Waverley, Kan., Robert I. of Angleton, Texas, Mrs. Florence Eagle of Rosemont, Kan., who died last year, Geo. A. of Oregon, Alonzo, who died in 1880 and Edgar Glass, with whom she resided at the time of her death, and whose orphaned children she has mothered for nearly ten years. She came with her husband from Spencer county, Kentucky, in 1869, locating in Osage county, and moved to Waverley in 1882.
She was converted at the early age of 15 and united with the Presbyterian church at Taylorville, Kentucky, and for more than 72 years has lived a most consistent and earnest Christian. She crossed over the silent river and joined the company of Saints at 11 o'clock Thursday night.

Mrs. Lucinda Glass died at her home in Waverley Thursday evening, October 18, 1906, aged 87 years, 1 month, 26 days, after an extended illness caused from old age. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Whorall at the Waverley Presbyterian church, Saturday, October 20, and the remains interred in Rock Creek cemetery. Mrs. Glass was the mother of ten children and a stepmother of four. She has lived in Waverley since 1882 and her death will cause sorrow to her many friends.
