Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Holmes Brockman, 68, were held Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Mark's Methodist Church with the Rev. K. A. Loy in charge. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. The pallbearers were Sam Smith, Willard Dabney, James Harmon, Oscar Shipp, Robert Stevens, and Jack Holt. Mrs. Brockman, daughter of the last Silas Holmes, was born December 20, 1887, in Adair County, Ky. She died Tuesday, June 19 at 1:00 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Shelby Lemmons, on Central Avenue. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Owen Wynn Brockman on February 28, 1906 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1951. To this union six sons and five daughters were born. Two daughters died in infancy. Survivors include six sons and three daughters, Abner Brockman, Pontiac, Ill.; Herbert, Ray, John, Charles and Tommie Brockman, Mrs. Gilbert Shipp, Mrs. Shelby Lemmons and Mrs. Vernon Martin, all of Campbellsville. Also three brothers and three sisters, Coy Holmes, Campbellsville, and Virgil and Ruel Holmes, Miss Rosie Holmes, Mrs. Laurie Brockman and Mrs. Vinie Vaughn, all of Adair County.
