Herbert Brockman, Indianapolis, Ind., died at the Marion County General Hospital in Indianapolis Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 11:00 a.m., following a heart attack. He was 48. A native of Green County, Mr. Brockman was born August 9, 1923, son of Cora Holmes and Owen Brockman, both deceased. He was married to Lillie Brown who survives. Besides his wife, who lives in Indianapolis, he is survived by a daughter, Peggy Ann Brockman, Indianapolis, and eight step-children, Mrs. Edith Jackson, Mrs. Mary Slicer, Sue Brown, Jay, Bobby, Glenn, Ray, and Charles Brown, all of Indianapolis. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Shelby Lemons, Campbellsville; Tommy Brockman, Shepherdsville; Mrs. Vernon (Artie) Martin, Campbellsville; Abner Brockman, Pontiac, Ill.; Ray and Charles Brockman, both of Route 4, Campbellsville; Mrs. Gilbert (Bell) Shipp, Rt. 2, Campbellsville and John E. Brockman, Louisville. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 17 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lyon Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Shiley Beard. Burial was in Brookside. Pallbearers were Leonard Holmes, Ancil Reynolds, Oscar Shipp, Coy R. Holmes, Logan Malone and Michael Reynolds.
