Death of Emmett BARRETT
(September 7,1877 -Janurary 26, 1897

Emmett BARRETT, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. BARRETT [his mother being Margaret Ann "Maggie" (SILVERS) BARRETT GUSTIN] of Rice township, died at the home of his parents Tuesday morning after an illness of over two years. His death was caused by that dread malady, Bright's disease, but during all his sickness he was a patient sufferer, and uttered no word of complaint. He was a young man who gave promise of a useful career in life.

The funeral services will be conducted today at Middle Fork chapel by his former pastor, Rev. J. R. JOHNSTON of Cromwell, and the remains will be interred in the Rose Hill cemetery (sic, should be Middle Fork Cemetery). The bereaved parents and family have the sincere sympathy of the whole community.
