His obituary published in The Citizen Register on 19 Oct 1942 says he was 54 and lived at 18 Tompkins Avenue in Ossining. He died yesterday at Danbury Hospital and is survived by his widow Glenna Price Barnes, two daughters Mrs. Florence Mallesch of NY, Mrs. Marion Simoncelli of Litchfield, CT, his mother Lutitia Barnes of Maple Place, Ossining, a brother Asa of Dale Avenue, two sisters Mrs. Jennie Lomax of NY City, Mrs. Marion Colbert of Cold Spring. Service by Rev William B Reed of Highland Avenue Methodist Church and interment at Sparta Cemetery. I never knew him but Uncle "Evie" was mentioned frequently in our home.
