COLUMBIA — Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today in the First Baptist Church here for Elphin Fisher, 59, of Columbia.

The Revs. Gary Maroney and E. H. House Jr. officiated, with burial in Columbia Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cathryn Fisher of Columbia; two sons, Barrett Fisher of Memphis, Tenn. and Jimmy Fisher of Springhill; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Price of Baton Rouge and Miss Sylvia Fisher of Columbia; two brothers, Archie Fisher of Monroe and B. L. Fisher of Columbia; six sisters, Mrs. Flora Belle Cottingham, Mrs. Ethel Whitlock and Mrs. Irbie Gene Wilson, all of Columbia; Mrs. Lola Brensing of New Orleans; Mrs. Onnie Pinton [sic Pinion] of Avinger, Tex. and Mrs. Bertha Mae Wooley of Valley Mills, Tex.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Gartman, Melvin Douglas, Billy C. Dunn, Peaton Coates, Douglas Crockett and Jim Sherman.
