Jake Scherr, 64, passed away Feb 10 in the Mobridge Hospital.

Funeral services were Feb 13 at TL Holy Cross with Fr J Murrin celebrating Mass of the Resurrection. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Casketbearers: Bruce and Bryce Enright, Ray Whalen, Dave Hermes, Bill Meier, Lester Gill. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements.

Jacob Scherr was born Sept 7, 1910, at Bison, son of Nicholas and Karolina Scherr. He married Margaret Nettie Meyer at Cherokee, IA, on Nov 30, 1934. Since 1939 they lived on a farm 9 miles NE of TL.

He is survived by his widow Nettie; three sons: Joe and Irvin of TL; Jack of Gillette, WY; three daughters: Alice (Leland)Salisburg of South Sioux City, NE; Joyce Scherr of Gathersburg, MD; Clara Ann (Tom) Herman of TL; seven sisters: Sister Mary Alice of Rapid City; Margaret (Lawrence) Rabie of Mabton, WA; Betty Roberts of Sunnyside, WA; Mary Rable of Grandview, WA; Eva (Vern) Mieras of Yakilna, WA; Ann Lambert of San Antonio, TX; Julia Ciraulo of Los Gatos, CA; two brothers: Frank of Marrysville, WA; Mike of Mabton, WA; 8 grandchildren.
