TELL CITY — Minnie Katherine Brown, 90, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
A native of Spencer County, she was born June 7, 1912, the daughter of the late Michael and Katharina (Leibering) Hempfling.
She was united in marriage Nov. 25, 1933, to Drolus Brown. He died Feb. 18, 1997. They were married 63 years.
She was a member of Lilly Dale Church of Christ and enjoyed quilting, fishing and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Drolus; her parents; two sons, D. Clifton and Donald Brown; a daughter, Fern Brown; a sister, Nelda Ernst; and three brothers, Albert, Christopher and John Hempfling.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Brown of Middleton, Idaho, and Charles Brown of Dale; five daughters, Shirley Parr, Peggy Bolin and Joan Reed, all of Cannelton, June Risse of Evanston and Diana Brown of Huntingburg; a sister, Ada Schwenn of Arizona; 26 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, Tell City. The Rev. Milton Pledger officiated. Burial was in Lilly Dale Cemetery in
