Dorothy was the daughter of Oscar and Ronnaug Norskog. She married Elmer Fosland in 1940. They had four children: Barry, David, Doreen and Donna Staubus. Dorothy and Elmer farmed in the Hector area. When they had time they enjoyed their camper at Diamond Lake. They were active members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector after Palmyra Lutheran closed in 1968.
