Her death notice appeared in The Democratic Register of Sing Sing (Ossining) on 29 Oct 1898 and says Mrs George W Romaine died on Friday morning of last week and the funeral service was held last Sunday afternoon in the Sparta Chapel, the interment taking place at Chappaqua. She was a member of the Highland Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church. This devout woman was last at the church service on Old Folks Day last October and through a year of breaking health came to the serious illness which resulted in death. Her triumph was complete. Patient in suffering and in the last moments apparently fixed her eyes upon an object and exclaiming Mary, Mary, the name of the beloved and deceased daughter who passed to home where friends long separated meet to part no more. Her husband and seven surviving children have the sympathy of their many friends. She is my second great grandmother.
