Ellis -- Barbara R. Dreiling, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Hadley Regional Medical Center, Hays.
She was born Feb. 8, 1909 at Hyacinth, the daughter of Andrew and Barbara (Kuhn) Pfeifer.
She married Richard Dreiling on Oct. 29, 1928 in Ellis; he died in 1967. She worked at Dan’s Cafe in Hays for 20 years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis.
Survivors include five sons, Ralph, Hays, Arthur, Ellis, Harry, Hays, LeRoy, Lyons, and Clarence, Hays; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ellis, Utica; two brothers, Aloysius and Alex, both of Hays; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Bollig, Council Bluff, Iowa, and Mrs. Susan Brethour, Eastlake, Colo.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, burial was in the church cemetery.
