Robert Calvin Parks, Jr., 49, of Fairmount, died Thursday morning in the Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Lufkin, Texas. He was born in Lovington, New Mexico, to Robert C. and Joan DeLong Parks. Robert has lived in Fairmount for twenty years coming here from Baytown where he worked as a boilermaker in several chemical plants.
He is survived by his mother and father, Robert and Joan Parks of Fairmount, his wife Rosemary Parks of Alabama, his step-children Brandi Kuhrt and Michael Doom of Houston and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Sherri Gresham and her husband Terry of Cove, Texas, Donna Kjerulff of Burkeville, Debra Pulver of Lake Charles, LA, and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his brother Charles Smith, Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Saturday, December 14, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Sunday, December 15, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Fairmount.
