Gladys Bogart Schuermann, 87, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 1995.

She had worked for Montgomery Grocery in Midway for over 40 years. She was the widow of Rev. William S. Schuermann and was predeceased by a grandson, Eric William Schuermann.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonny S. and Frank Sparks, Vinton; Betty S. and Eugene Stiff, Rock Hill, S.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, William S. and Sarah Schuermann, Germany, Robert E. and Mary Ann Schuermann, Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 8, 1995, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. Holly Phillips and the Rev. Michael Barnes will officiate. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont Christian Church or the First Christian Church of Vinton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
