Frances Gertrude Lanning was born on July 27. She married James Sherman Lowry on March 18, 1897. J.S. And Frances moved from Leyden, Rock Co., WI. to Jewel, Iowa, where he and his two brothers operated a General Store. The family moved back to the Leyden with a General Store operated by the family. This building operated/was a shopping stop for Lowry cousins, Stan and daughter Colleen Lowry 70 years later-it still stands today as of 2015. Frances had four children as of 1905-Ralph, Edward, Mabel, Carroll, with Doris born later in Duell Co, South Dakota. The family eventually relocated to Alhambra, California.
They were fresh produce stand operators and final business was a spa retreat for famous movie stars called Showboat Camp located in Elsinore.
