Margaret Jane Blackburn Gray Obituary

Maggie Blackburn, wife of Jacob Gray, died at their home in Sherman township, November 21, aged 57 years, 4 months and 20 days, after a long illness.
She was born in Deerborn county, Indiana, June 30, 1856 She was married to Jacob Grey April 2, 1874 to which union eight children were born, all of whom are living except the first born.
Twenty-four years ago they came to Michigan and have since made their home here.
She has been a member of the Baptist  church about 20 years, and although sickness has kept her at home much of the time she has been a constant worker in the cause for Christ.
She is survived by a husband, one sister, five daughters, two sons and many other relatives.
She has been a kind and watchful mother, and a gentle, loving wife, and her life is strong evidence that she has gone to a home not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in  the Sherman schoolhouse by Rev. J. W. Tolly. Interment in Sherman cemetery.
