Wife of Milton Crist
Mrs. Abigail Crist, widow of Milton Crist, died at Howells Depot Sunday night, of general debility, aged 88 years. She was confined to her bed only a day. The husband died three years ago at the age of 86.
Mrs. Crist was one of the Houston family which settled in the vicinity before the Revolution and was born near Neelytown. Mr. David C. Houston, of Phillipsburg, is a half brother, and Mrs. Joseph Hallett, of Waverly, a half sister. The latter is the mother of Mrs. S. T. Robertson of this city.
Mrs. Crist is survived by five children; Adelaide, wife of J. H. Sosey, of Ellenville, Brewster S. of Howells; Theressa H. and Sarah E., at home, and James F. of Newburg.
The descendants of Mrs. Crist extend into the fourth generation, there being sixteen great grandchildren. Not many mothers are spared to witness such a chain of family ties.
Funeral services Wednesday at 11:30, at her late residence.
