Mrs. Hallett, whose home is at Waverly, N.Y. came to visit her daughter in this city about three months ago. She was in feeble health, and two weeks ago was obliged to take to her bed.
Deceased was the daughter of James Houston and Sarah Still, and was born in this county, June 10, 1810, and was therefore in her 85th year.
She was married Dec. 6, 1832 to Joseph Hallett, of Waverly, N.Y., who died Oct 23, 1891. He was noted as the oldest volunteer fireman in the State.
Deceased is survived by four children as follows: Hatfield Hallett and Mrs. Chas F. Spencer of Waverly; Mrs John T. Robinson, of this city; and Mrs. M. E. Miller, of Paterson, N.J.; also by one brother David C. Houston, of Phillipsburgh, Orange County.
The remains will be taken to Waverly on Erie train 5, this evening where the funeral and interment will be held.
