Robert L. Grenert, 79, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at the North Ottawa Community Hospital, Grand Haven, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Dey Florin Chapel, Florin Funeral Service, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. There will be military rites conducted at the funeral home by Coloma American Legion Post No. 362 and Auxiliary; DAV Chapter No. 17 and Auxiliary and Benton Harbor VFW Post NO. 1137. Burial will followin in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Ind. at 2:30 p.m.
Mr. Grenert was born Aug. 18, 1919, in South Bend, Ind. He moved to Benton Harbor in 1950, and had worked for Whirlpool Corp. for 31 years as a foreman and supervisor until retiring in 1981. He was a member of VFW Post No. 1137, Benton Harbor; American Legion Post No. 568, Stevensville; and Dowagiac Loyal Order of the Moose No. 933; and he was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; two daughters - Sharon Frey of Austin, Texas, and Mrs. Alan (Margaret) Freeman of Grand Haven; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
