Florence was born November 27, 1916, in Ripley, Mississippi, to Brewer Melton Anderson and Elizabeth Jane Byrd Anderson. Florence was educated in China Spring, Texas, and later worked at Cox’s Department Store. She enjoyed baking, especially chocolate cookies later in life --for everyone, and growing zinnias. She worked in the church nursery for 30 years, and was known to almost everyone as "Granny Florence". She loved her church and was a faithful member and dedicated Christian.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buster “Buck” Woodard (married 1934); sons, Jerry Woodard and Kenneth Woodard; two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by daughter, Shirley Booker; daughter-in-law, Shirley Woodard; granddaughters, Sylvia Ekdahl, Kenda Matson, and Deborah George; grandson, Bobby Booker; five great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by double-first cousin, Opal Florence Anderson Yankie of China Spring.
Memorials may be made to Bruceville Baptist Church or your local hospice organization.

I am extremely honored that Florence, my double-first cousin once removed, asked me to do her memorial. She is Precious to me, we have always been very close despite our age difference and I'm proud to be related to her and to have shared life with Florence who has cherished me, her family, her community and LIFE. And we all cherish her. (Nancy, daughter of Opal Florence Anderson.)
