Gertrude Marie Mouton, 88, of Waco, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013. Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park.

Marie was born in China Spring, Texas, to the late Brewer ("Brew") Melton Anderson and Elizabeth Jane ("Lizzy") Byrd Anderson. She had worked for Lone Star Gas and was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church.

Marie is survived by husband, Henry "Hank" Mouton; daughters, Janet Johnson and Judy Courtney; son, Charles Harvey "Gene" Farris; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Florence Anderson Woodard; many other relatives and numerous friends.

Published in the Waco Tribune-Herald: 6 Oct 2013, R13.

Within the Anderson family Gertrude Marie was lovingly known as "Gertie" all her life. She was a beautiful person. She is also survived locally by her double-first cousin, Opal Florence Anderson Yankie, Mrs. Yankie's daughter, Nancy, and granddaughter, Juliana, who were very close to her, and loved their Dear Aunt Gertie. (By cousin, Nancy Opal Yankie. Gertie was actually my First cousin since she was a double first cousin to a Mother. Due to the huge age difference, we called her and her siblings 'Aunt' and 'Uncle'.)
