A message was received over the wires Sunday of the death of Mrs. Samuel Hise. Hope some one from her neighborhood will furnish us an appropriate sketch of her life.
Highland Recorder March 12, 1926
Mrs. Samuel Hise died at her home four miles south of Hightown, Friday evening, February 27, 1926. Owing to the violent character of her illness hope of her recovery was given up several days before death came. She was 73 years of age and frail constitution and not able to long resist her fatal malady. Mrs. Hise had been widowed for only six months but is survived by five sons and one daughter. They are --- - ., Jacob, Oscar, Clay, Walter, and the daughter, Mrs. Ham Moyers of W. Va. She was highly spoken of as a neighbor, and a large number present at her burial bore testimony to high esteem in which she was held. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. J. A. Mawhinney, Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment was in the family hurrying ground.
