John R. Wilmot, 90, R.D. 2, Apollo, Oklahoma, died at his home at 9:30 p.m. yesterday following a lingering illness.
He was born in Apollo on May 11, 1877, a son of William and Ellen Geiger Wilmot.
He was a retired employee of the Vandergrift Plant of United Engineering and Foundry Co. where he had worked for 52 years.
He and his wife had celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last July.
He was a life member of the Oklahoma fire Dept.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Blystone Wilmot; two daughters, Mrs. John (Helen) Baylor, Vandergrift, and Mrs. Goldie Leeker, Allegheny Twp.; four sons, Merle, Oklahoma, Clifford, Apollo, Paul, Apollo, and Charles, at home; two sisters, Mrs. John (Emma) Mulholland, Vandergrift, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Wier, Vandergrift; a brother, William P. Wilmot, North Apollo; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Robert G. Peters Funeral Home, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where services will be held.
