JOHN CHARLES CORDER, SR., 83, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home. Born January 13, 1930 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles Roy and Hattie Mae (McGowan) Corder.

He was a member of Calvary Grace Brethren Church. John enjoyed wood working. He retired after 57 years working at Brandt Cabinet Works and Statton Furniture in Hagerstown.

John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Susan Camilla (Royer) Corder; a son, John Charles Corder, Jr., Smithsburg; two daughters, Brenda Huntzberry; Hagerstown, Susan Hollinger, Greencastle; two sisters, Grace Huffer, Hagerstown, Madeline Spoonaire, Funkstown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Leroy, Howard; and two sisters, Martha and Barbara.

Funeral services were conducted at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown; interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
