MARJORIE L. McCOY

Marjorie L. McCoy, 85, of Morgantown, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born November 22,1924 at Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Felix B. Wilson and Rebecca Wilson.

Mrs. McCoy attended Daybrook High School and graduated in 1942 from Clay-Battelle High School. After high school she went to school and became an LPN. She worked for West Virginia University Hospital for 23 years having retired in 1986.

She was a member of many organizations including the Morgantown Senior Citizens, Daybrook Senior Citizens, and Clay-Battelle Senior Citizens. She did volunteer work for Friends of WVU Hospital at the information desk and gift shop and was awarded her 500 hour pin.

Marjorie was a member of the University Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband, Estel McCoy, whom she married on April 4, 1942, and is now a resident of the Madison; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen Ann and Blaine Chess of Morgantown and Sharen McCoy of Morgantown; one grandson, Nathan A. McCoy of Philadelphia, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Owens and Murby Yost.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 5-8 PM Monday and from 5-8 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Evangelist Ben Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery.
